The start of Tarot Exactly when Tarot started is still to this day unknown, but there are however proof of Tarot cards being used as early as the fifteenth century and some of these Tarot decks are still around.

In the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries scholars of the occult realized that the cards were a lot more powerful and had more meaning than just an ordinary card game.

The cards have then been created or changed by connections to the Kabbalah, Egyptian mysteries, Hermetic philosophy and secret societies such as the Order of the Golden Dawn into what it is today.

Can anyone use Tarot cards? Psychic readings and Tarot readings have always been portrayed as occult, dark and scary by “Hollywood” movies showing the typical old and ugly psychic living in a dark, dirty hole somewhere scary.

You do not have to be a psychic to read Tarot cards. Practice and training of reading your intuition will get your Tarot reading skills improved quickly. Tarot is simply just another tool to reach and use the power of the unconscious, much like meditating, psychotherapy, visualization and interpretation.

No one claims to understand how Tarot cards work, there are heaps of different ideas, some think that the collective effort of meditating on the cards has created the energy arounf them. Some think that the Tarot cards are just a tool to get in touch with your intuition or spirit.

The Cards A Tarot deck consists of 78 cards, 22 of them being trumps such as the fool, the lovers, the pope and the world.

The basic meaning of the cards are the same regardless of what deck you are using, however, the specific images and language used on a deck can be more or less useful depending what type of reading you are doing. For example, many people find the Renaissance Tarot particularly good at questions of passion, mastery, and reason.

How can Tarot help you? Tarot has helped many people connecting to their consciousness and given guidance or meaning to hard choices or decisions.

Most of us live our lives in a way that we let our conscious minds lead the way of our daily life, the Tarot cards helps you to connect to your inner guide and let that wisdom guide you in your choices and the paths you are choosing.
