« What To Do To Relieve Stress   Methods To Win Your Ex Back After Being The One Dumped »

So you want to know the secret to big and happy, walk the red carpet hair? All the famous people swear by blow-outs to mold their perfect profiles. “They give you a nice completed look, star stylist Julie shares. “You can get so many looks from a blow-dry–simple curls, very straight, or even a extreme tight lock depending on what tools you use.”

The first thing to do when starting the pampering is with your damp tresses. “But before you try to dry your hair with blow drying, first use a towel. This will redeem your time and keep you from causing stress on your hands from needless blow drying soaked hair,” Leah shares.

Then you should apply a descent amount of straightening balm and volumizing mousse. These are the highest recommended products to protect against heat damage. But don’t over do it. “You can always add more, but if you add too much you will have to re-wash it out of your hair,” Amber adds. “Just make sure they are evenly distributed throughout the hair.”

After tresses are divided into sections, select a brush (or your hands!) based on the desired result of your blow-out. “If you want a smooth look, a Denman brush is really nice.” Maxine continues, “A round brush is going to give you more fullness and curl. A vent brush will give you a smoother look that doesn’t tuck ends under.”

Beginning at the roots and moving outward with the brush, hair should be dried moving the same way as the cuticle. “Basically air should be moving down toward the ground so sealing happens at the cutilces,” Kim says. “We don’t want to destroy the cuticle.” A directional nozzle attachment can convert your blow-drying into a curling super-star. Another little tip can be to put your hair in Velcro rollers to get that curly look which will hold.

The experts recommend curly hair wearers use a diffuser attachment on their blow-dryer. “Turn your head upside down, lay the ends of your hair in the cup of the diffuser and push it up so it touches your head. The curls will wrap around the little fingers of the diffuser and form beautiful, blown-out curls.”

Continue to use the dryer until all the locks of hair are completely dry. “However, if you are using a diffuser, you can leave some moisture in, about 20%,” Kim chimes in. To combat the effects of using heat in your styling, make sure you have a conditioning treatment at least once per week for your hair maintenance.
